I’m giving two talks on making potions from the garden – at 10 am and 2 pm – at River Cottage Garden Open Day: Meet the Experts.
Garden Open Day: Meet the Experts
On Monday 4 April 2016 we will be holding our annual Garden Open Day: Meet the Experts at River Cottage HQ.
There will be interesting talks, Q&As and tours from garden experts and professionals down at River Cottage HQ, nestled in the beautiful East Devon countryside.
The brainchild of Head Gardener Will Livingstone, this event will show you how we do things down at River Cottage, as well as covering sustainable, organic and unique horticultural methods and practices on all things edible from industry experts.
There will be cherry-picked professionals from the growing world ensuring you’ll leave with plenty of good advice. No Dig expert Charles Dowding, Head Gardener Penny Hemming from Riverford, garden writer Sally Nex, Head Grower Ash Wheeler from Trill Farm and Josiah Meldrum from Hodmedods will discuss topics such as soils, market gardening, the principles of organic veg, seed saving and composting and Stephanie Hafferty will be talking about making remedies from plants you can grow.
At River Cottage, we believe that growing and eating your own fruit and vegetables will change your life! The famous kitchen garden has always been central to life on the farm. It supplies our kitchens with tasty fresh produce while reminding us of food’s seasonal journey from plot to plate, so why not hold a day to celebrate it?
It wouldn’t be a River Cottage day out without great food, so we’ll ensure you get your fill with a delicious veggie lunch, fresh from the garden, included in the ticket price. In addition £2 of each ticket sold will be donated to Horatio’s Garden , a national charity that builds beautiful gardens for patients at NHS spinal treatment centres.
A great day out for the keen amateur or seasoned professional gardener.
